Citizens Serving The Patriot Wing

We are veterans, local business leaders, and proud community members united by one mission—to support the men, women, and mission of Westover Air Reserve Base.

Our roots trace back to 1988, when we were formed as a committee within the Chicopee Chamber of Commerce. Just one year later, in 1989, we proudly became an independent organization—strengthening our commitment to serve those who serve us.

In 2023, we celebrated an incredible milestone: 35 years of dedication, partnership, and unwavering support for our Westover community.

Together, we remain committed to honoring our service members, strengthening community ties, and supporting the mission that protects us all.

Our Mission

Promote interaction between Westover ARB and its surrounding communities.

Support the military men, women and mission of Westover ARB.

Increase public awareness about what Westover means to us individually and collectively.

An organization that contributes over $300 million annually to our local economy is something we should all recognize and support. Westover Air Reserve Base plays a vital role in the strength and stability of our region. Its impact reaches far beyond the base—supporting local businesses, creating jobs, and strengthening communities within a 30-mile radius. Simply put, Westover is not just an asset—it’s a cornerstone of our local economy and way of life. 🇺🇸

What We Do

In alignment with Department of Defense guidelines, we proudly raise funds to support events, programs, and special needs at Westover Air Reserve Base. Through these efforts, we help enhance the quality of life for service members and their families—ensuring they feel the strength and support of the community they serve. 🇺🇸

At the annual Westover Family Day, our volunteers help create a memorable experience for more than 2,500 military personnel and their families. Through both hands-on support and financial contributions, we bring this special day to life on the Westover Ellipse at Westover Air Reserve Base.  It’s our way of saying thank you—ensuring those who serve, and the families who stand beside them, can enjoy a day of connection, appreciation, and community. 🇺🇸

The WGCC proudly partners with and supports a variety of on-base programs and initiatives at Westover Air Reserve Base, including the Airman & Family Readiness Center, Westover Young Marines, the Civil Air Patrol, and Youth Outreach Day. Through these collaborations, we help strengthen connections between service members, their families, and the broader community—supporting programs that inspire, educate, and uplift the next generation. 🇺🇸

In collaboration with the 439th Force Support Squadron, the WGCC plays an active role in coordinating the Great New England Air Show at Westover Air Reserve Base. Together, we help bring this premier event to life—welcoming thousands of visitors, showcasing the strength and pride of our military, and creating an unforgettable experience for the entire community. 🇺🇸

We actively collaborate with local, state, and federal elected officials to support the shared interests of our communities and Westover Air Reserve Base. Through these partnerships, we help ensure continued growth, advocacy, and long-term success for both the base and the region it serves. 🇺🇸

In addition to our core mission, we actively provide input to key advisory groups—including the National Commission on the Structure of the Air Force and the Massachusetts Military Asset and Security Strategy Task Force—to advocate for the continued strength and strategic importance of Westover Air Reserve Base. Through this advocacy, we work to ensure Westover’s vital role in Western Massachusetts is recognized, protected, and positioned for long-term success. 🇺🇸
